Shure 58 microphones NOT the standard anymore.

For quite a long time most live performers go to mic of choice for live performance was the shure 58 or beta.

If you are are currently using shure 58’s you owe it to yourself to check out mics that are in the same pricerange but are much better suited to live performance and sound better.

A list of mics that sound and perform better to check out would be:

  • audix om5, om6, om7
  • Sennhieser 945e & 935
  • Electro voice ND 967

There are a bunch of other mics that probably sound better too, but those are the ones I’ve tried myself.  Simply put the shure 58’s are old news.

If you are looking for singing instruction the best you can get is www.vocalrelease.com  They offer a complete, professional singing instruction course.
